Heh, good ol' Tale of Two Cities. I hated being required to read it and memorize the first paragraph, but I did enjoy it. I digress.

   This weekend saw the coming of fencer_x and Mahamo!!!! Although the week was sucksville, the play was better than I could have imagined AND it's magical love powers have continued to lift me up even through 3 sucky classes today. Go Kansai Love Magic!!!

     It was wonderful to hang with Court again, and I have really, REALLY missed having a *pnish* play to look forward to. Plus, the more I see Nagayan the more I can't resist his insane abundance of charm. And his interactions with Tuti in Maharaja Mode? Priceless, as if anyone didn't see that coming.
     So, it's two am and I haven't finished worksheets for tomorrow yet, but I don't want to let the Mahamo memories slip away. I really loved it and and I hate that I couldn't go to the afternoon Kobe show to see Tuti and Nagayan light up the Miokuri ;_; (I'm at one of those places in my life where I'm trying to figure out how to balance everything and due to various church issues I didn't think I could miss church. >_< Anyhoo, that's what happened). But what I did see has made the week brighter. I can't read all of my scrawled notes, but I'll try to post them tomorrow (I know I know, famous last words. I have Spanish class tomorrow, too, but this is important so I'll do my best). For now, just some thoughts.
       I absolutely adored the music and the costumes. It cracked me up that the first dance featured some "Hindu" breakdancing (aka Japanese guys dressed in "India"-inspired clothing spinning on the floor like there's no tomorrow), lol. And while Tuti's Pink elephant hat (with a gold/yellow heart on the nose) took me by surprise at first, it really grew on me. And Nagayan was the coolest, cutest, funniest "blind" character ever! He was a good fighter and could be serious when needed, yet he always keeping the mood lighthearted by making funny faces while other characters had the spotlight. His relationship with Tuti's character was truly touching. Even though their fears (of how the relationship would change if the truth came out about the fateful night of their meeting) held them back for a while, their deep feelings manifested whenever the other was in danger. And Daiki's (Shiva's) demonstration of brotherly love felt real and poignant, especially when Thane (Vishnu) told Daiki to kill him. Also, I love how Eiji's character punches Daiki/Shiva for running away and then gives him a BEAR HUG. A LONG BEAR HUG. Thank. You. Marrieds. (*_*) And Thane....there are no words for his coolness.
       On a related note, my good friend Nobuko knows of Thane so I showed her the pamphlet and then proceeded to watch all of On7 with her. That's part of the reason for the lateness tonight @_@ We laughed and cheered so hard. She really enjoyed it so she wants to see Mahamo, but she's probably not free while it's in Nagoya. Suckiness!! But I'll lend her some more *pnish* dvds and maybe we'll have another fan joining the ranks ^_^

Anyway, I'd best get crackin' on those worksheets. Merry Mahamo to all, and to all a good night.

I saw my first string dragonfly (I think that's what one teacher called them, ito tombo anyone?). I LOVE those things!!! They're like a cross between a butterfly and a dragonfly--beautiful hira hira fluttering, soft sound, and soft wings like a butterfly mixed with a graceful, colorful elongated dragonfly derriere. I really like the mix of dark black, velvety wings and blue-to-green body. Yes, I think those bugs are COOL. All the pictures I've found online look meh, though. Definitely have to see them in full, fluttering glory.

     Speaking of glory, HP7 sounds like it was a whole new level of "Best Thing"---everyone can just forget the saying "since sliced bread." I really REALLY wish I could have gone ;_; I had exams, though, so...such is life. Butbutbut, it goes to show that there are wonderful things in this world that something that AMAZING got to take place! And we have a firsthand witness who thankfully shares the wonderful details with us--YOU OWN, fencer_x!!!

In other news work is really, really awkward. They don't seem to want to talk to me anymore since they found out that I'm moving to a new school and not leaving. I tried explaining but no luck, they just cut me off. Well, if they won't understand I guess it's better just to move on. I wasn't trying to hurt anyone and I made the decision that I thought was the best at the time. I've learned things since then but I know I still have a lot to work on. It's funny how they complained about me sooo much in Japanese while I was around but now are upset with me for leaving. Does no one understand being lost? I apologize for not having a clear-cut plan for my life, I'm working on it >_< It's not like I don't have dreams, it's just that they're not falling into any one job field right now. I have a mishmosh of interests but no driving fervor for anything yet. I really suprised myself by growing to enjoy the Elementary lessons--they exhaust me the most but most of them make me really happy. Anyway, I look forward to making the best of the new situation and to continuing my quest to find out what the heck I want to do for a living. And meanwhile there's every day to be lived and friends to contact. Ganbarimasu!!!

And, one side note: I really wonder what's up with one teacher. He always says "Oh, Meegan!" when he sees me anywhere. Then today he was talking to another teacher and he mentioned my name and then swivels his chair toward me and proceeds with a surprised"Oh, Meeegan!" again. Apparently I'm invisible or phase in an out at times? No clu o_0 He's the same one who kept saying my name over and over one day last semester--maybe he just loves the name Megan. Saaaa...

Ok, so no notes posted yet---gomen!!! A board of education guy dropped a bomb yesterday---they found another JET job and, since i said i want to stay in Japan, they expect me to apply. It's still in Shiga, though, and I REALLY want to be in Tokyo and be Courtney's roommate AND be closer to the awesome guys that reside in Tokyo. Plus, they won't even tell me WHERE it is or what kind of school. "It's a secret" he says. Well, I need to know. If I want to stay the whole "bird in the hand worth twice in the bush" saying would apply here and I should accept since I'm not sure if any other situation is going to work out. HOWEVER, it's not where I want to be (heck, i don't even know what side of the lake!) and ...my gut reaction is no. Eliz. is pointing out that I got her a job in the boonies and now want to leave, but by the time I found her the job I had thought that I was stuck going home anyway. As dependent as it sounds, I need to be around friends, to have some way to GET to friends, and this could be even further from Tokyo and my other friends >< I remember what it was like when I first got here, to my boonies job, and there was no one really my age and my efforts to hang out with teachers was fail since they've got families that they don't even get to see much since they don't get out of school until 6:30/7/8 pm.
    I guess if I take the JET job it gives me more time to look for a non-eikaiwa job and it will help me stay so I can study the language more and try to get ready to take JLPT 2 in a few years. Ahhhhh, I feel really conflicted, though.
   Berlitz or Interac sounded really great, but I've found forums bashing both but the people won't say WHY.  That makes me suspicious (some people just seem to like to b**** and moan) but I wish I could get more feedback.  I think I have to accept the JET job for now and use the time it gives me to look for better.  I just don't like the secrecy, pressure, or timing because it doesn't even let me see how the interviews play out,  and I have to tell him by 11AM  Today. >_<;;;;

Ok, today totally ROCKED!!!! This weekend in general was amazing and I am in NO WAY trying to diss the marvelous *pnish* but it was such a great experience getting to talk to the Kitty Guys (and actually talk, well, more than just "it was fun, thank you"...since I went up to Kuri three times XD Also, who can forget the awesome instance of Kuma bustin' out a Jack Sparrow impression in response to my shirt!!!!! XD Awwww, he was soooo cute!!!). like fencer_xsaid, though, this won't be able to happen forever so I hope many many more of the AWESOME foreign fans get to experience this before they get too big n' busy. It was really great hanging out with everyone! I wanna do it again ;_; Need a Tokyo job, and PRONTO!
  During the auction I bid on Kuri's ring and Kuma's red tumbler, but no luck. It was for charity so I went as high as 8000 yen on the ring and then let the girl get it because she was going crazy and I still needed to run by Gain. I'm totally wishing i'd tried harder but...yeah, Japanese fangirls are a force to be reckoned with and I wasn't quite up to the task *meccha sadness mode* REALLY happy fencer_x got her future hubby's shirt, tho!!!! Omg, sooo exciting seeing her bid with another fan for it. Not only bid, but bid AND win!!! Sweetness, pure and utter sweetness. I'm eagerly awaiting news of the next meeting with him...
  As a side note I took some hastily scribbled notes during the outdoor show and Birthday event, will update more tomorrow. Though I warn any readers--they were just quick scribbles so I could remember little details Iiked (like Kuri drinking Blendy--I love Blendy!). Plus...how random it was when they took of their shirts. (0_0) Speaking of which, did everyone notice how much Kuri seems to like to strip??? While Kuma and Bana grabbed their shirts shortly after the Kung Fu skit, Kuri just stood there with the mike totally comfortable and relaxed like that's how he likes to be. And who could forget the wonderful video in which we saw him topless many more times, in addition to rockin' out in a mesh shirt....

I GOT TO SHAKE DAIKI`S HAND!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in disbelief...even when I got to the point where you could SEE them standing there in their teal shirts...and when I was one person away the terror had sunk in...but then the SWEETNESS that is Wasshi took my hand and said `thank you` in a really calming voice! So...I relaxed a bit and then THERE WAS DAIKI!!!!!!! I was on the verge of tears so all I could say was `anou, Daiki-chan... &hands him present& totemo tanoshikatta arigatou gozaimashita!` He gave a huge grin and bowed his head when I gave him the present and when he did that his face was even closer and I thought i was going to die because of overloading on his cuteness and cool energy! Ok, yeah, so I turned into a raving fangirl with this first post but...seriously, it was more wonderful than i thought a short handshake could be. Yayyayayayayayay!!! ^_^ ヴィヴィ！
